The adidas group is the world's second largest producer of sporting goods (footwear, apparel and hardware). The activities were expanded with the acquisition in 2006 of Reebok. The businesses of the enlarged adidas group are organised round eight segments: W. Europe, N. America, Greater China, Russia/CIS, LatAm, Japan, MEAA and others (including brands TaylorMade-adidas Golf, CCM Hockey).
In 2016, the group derived 27% of its sales in W. Europe, 18% in N. America, 14% in MEAA, 16% in Greater China and 9% in LatAm, 4% in Russia/CIS and 5% in Japan. The group's production is mainly outsourced to third parties in Asia.
