Enel is the biggest utility in Italy and Spain. Enel's core market is Italy, where it has a market share of 25% in net electricity generation (including imports) and of 76% in electricity distribution. In Spain, Enel owns 70% of the biggest utility, Endesa. After the acquisition of the 60% stake in Enersis in 2014 from Endesa, Enel has a substantial presence in Latin America. Enel's renewable energy subsidiary, Enel Green Power, is one of the biggest renewables players in Europe and the biggest in Italy. Enel also owns an International division (Russia and Romania) which is planned to be partially divested.
